Grieving Sisters

But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” John 11: 4 ESV Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” John 11: 21,22 ESV Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” John 11: 23,24 ESV

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11: 25,26 ESV But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10: 8 – 10 ESV

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 NKJV So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10: 17 ESV She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” John 11: 27 ESV When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. John 11: 33 ESV

And he said, “Where have you laid him And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus wept. John 11: 34,35 ESV When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. 10 So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, 11because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. John 12: 9 – 11 ESV

Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” John 11: 40 ESV And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. ……….. Genesis 1: 31a ESV

So they took away the stone So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.” John 11: 41 – 44 ESV

------------------------------------------------ “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” Luke 4: 18 – 19 ESV And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18 – 20 ESV ------------------------------------------------
