State Transportation Innovation Council Incentive Tasks 3 – Development of Training to Facilitate Implementation of Innovations MODULE 1 – Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measures (2hr) MODULE 2 – Use of Crowdsourcing to Advance Operations (2hr) MODULE 3 – Getting your Agency Workforce Ready for Innovations (4hr) Focus on findings from Task 1 including a map of the necessary skills to manage and operate the infrastructure of smart cities, data management principles, fundamental knowledge on communications, DSRC devices, and/or additional informational technology topics to be determined.

Traffic Signal Asset Management Systems (TSAMS) Objectives Help smaller local agencies catalog traffic signal infrastructure using a web-based database. Help local agencies document maintenance activities. Provide TDOT the state-of-the-practice of traffic signal infrastructure in Tennessee. Tasks Determine agencies’ current practices; Develop the web-based database; Pilot a local agency; Inventory repository; Training, outreach and assistance.

Accelerating Safety Activities Program (ASAP) Objective Provide information on the use of the Leading Pedestrian Interval in locations where crosswalk pedestrian traffic is in conflict with right-turning vehicular traffic. Provide informational material on the importance of proper timing of the Clearance Intervals. Tasks Hold 5 training sessions throughout the State (3hr) Develop and distribute printed material on educational info (600 double sided colored informational card for LPI and for CI); Develop video content for educational material.
