Run and Luminosity dependence of p17 NN b-tag D. Bloch, V. Siccardi (IPHC Strasbourg) Data sample : full pass3 p170903 + pass2 p170901 (note that pass2 p170901 was not used in p17 NN TRFs) BID sample : 22M muon-jet events QCD sample : 6M multi-jet events (taking 1 event / 8 over the full stat) Trigger lists : roughly (there are some overlaps) v11 : run ≤ 178721 v12 : 178722 ≤ run ≤ 194566 v13 : 194567 ≤ run ≤ 208122 v14 : run ≥ 208123 D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) Run range in red : data set not used in present p17 NN TRFs v11 v12 v13 v14 D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) Et/η behaviour : vs Run <Et> (GeV) Muon QCD v11 30 59 v12 53 v13 32 55 v14 34 56  will distinguish jet with Et < 45 GeV or > 45 GeV in the QCD sample (stat is not large enough to do it in the BID sample) D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

Et/η behaviour : vs Lumi <Et> (GeV) Muon QCD Lumi<20 30 52 20-40 32 55 40-80 33 60 Lumi>80 34 54 more jets at high η and high Lumi in the QCD sample ?? D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) NN tag efficiencies will consider 4 trigger list periods : v11 to v14 and 4 instantaneous Luminosity ranges : < 20 1030 , 20-40 1030 , 40-80 1030 , > 80 1030 cm-2s-1 as well as 2 Et ranges for the QCD sample (<, > 45 GeV) and 3 working points : NN cut > 0.45 (Loose), 0.65 (Medium), 0.90 (UltraTight) Then : muon-jet b-tag from System8 and QCD-jet negative tag rate D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) will estimate Run dependence if Lumi <40 and Lumi dependence in v13-v14 (the Lumi dependence seems smaller in v11-v12…) D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) similar behaviour for the other working points : D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) similar Run dependence in b-tag and mistag still some Lumi dependence at low Et but not really at high Et (if Lumi ≥ 30 in v13-v14) D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) similar behaviour for the other working points : D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

Summary : Run dependence Observed decrease of efficiency between runs 166000 and 216000 : Loose Medium UltraTight b-tag eff. -10.1 ± 2.6 % -12.2 ± 2.8 % -15.1 ± 3.1 % mistag eff. -9.6 ± 0.9 % -13.0 ± 1.3 % -21.2 ± 2.6 % Ageing of silicon tracker ? D. Bloch (IPHC Strasbourg) bid meeting October 13, 2006

Summary : Lumi dependence Observed decrease of efficiency in v13-v14 trigger lists (for jets with Et < 45 GeV) : But no significant effect at higher Et if Lumi ≥ 3 1031 in (% / 1031) Loose Medium UltraTight b-tag eff. -0.64 ± 0.32 -1.05 ± 0.34 -1.49 ± 0.38 mistag eff. -0.59 ± 0.24 -0.85 ± 0.36 -2.40 ± 0.79 D.
