4,450 children living in poverty Federal Riding Highlights from the 2018 BC Child Poverty Report Card In this riding, 4,450 children are living in poverty: over one in five children. The rate of child poverty in couple-parent families is 2% higher in this area than the provincial average. Children in lone-parent families are at particular risk of poverty with just over half of all children in these families living in poverty: over three times the number of children in two-parent families.
