In this case, it is time to change them.”

But that displays pride, arrogance and ignorance, I might add.”

What we have to understand is that God’s word is absolute, but our understanding and interpretations are always relative.”

These are also traditions.

And so, we need to constantly have our traditions under evaluation, and the Pharisees needed to do that, too.”

Is “social drinking” sin? “For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.” (I Pet. 4:3) “ an individual tradition” – (I Tim. 5:23, I Tim. 3:8) Progressive view: “…I have to conclude that Scripture does not forbid all use of alcohol. So, if that makes do not drink at all or do not touch a human application, or to put it in terms of our lesson tonight, it makes it a tradition.

Is “social drinking” sin? “For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.” (I Pet. 4:3) “ an individual tradition” – (I Tim. 5:23, I Tim. 3:8) Progressive view: “…Now, I will add that that’s not (all) you have to consider about the subject… loosing inhibition and clouding your judgment… horrible effects that the abuse of alcohol has had on people and on families… must consider his or her influence on others. These things also have to be considered.

I have to understand it for what it is, and I can’t equate it with the teaching of Scripture, and I must recognize that I am not at liberty to impose my conclusion on others and to judge people by my conclusions.”
