Fig. 1 The EEG-based ECS attached to a person who is controlling a television. The electrodes are attached to the scalp and are situated in the baseball-type cap. This in turn is linked by electrode cable to the transmitter, which is placed in the person's shirt pocket. This sends a remote signal to the receiver situated in the picture on the television. The receiver allows the person to turn on and off the television, as well as select channels and change volume.
