Company: Company 1 Service: Factory Automation Solutions Sector: Customer supplies; 10,000 + Customer Duration: 15 years Project Value: $15m Project Overview: Supporting R&d, design and deliver a high volume manufacturing line to support a new product introduction and designing flexibility to include capacity for existing skus. Also introcuced a more advanced product range and updated manufacturing technologies in parallel. Strategic Targets: Capacity expansion and new product introduction Five multi-module zones added in a new 20ppm line to provide 50% extra manufacturing capacity. Introduced PCB attachment zone and related manufacturing processes for more advanced product range. Delivered new Packaging equipment to integrate with existing Pack line. Upgraded packaging process (from Blister Packs to Vac-formed Trays) in parallel. Outcomes Achieved: Increased manufacturing capacity with improved efficiency & running costs, and better Pack utilisation. Introduction of more sophisticated product range (with Printed Circuit Assembly and additional advanced product features). Capital Avoidance: repurposed surplus cells from existing lines to minimise costs; added lower-cost “Bases / Transports” throughout the new line. Introduced new technologies and platforms: Flexible Parts Feeding (Robotics & Vision) Precision flex-circuitry placement (from Motoman to Aerotech robotics) PCB Attach & Processing Successful FATs and SATs completed, meeting all quality and system verification standards. Project Delivery: Managed all aspects of the project, from initial concept designs to delivery of tooling, buyoff and handover to customer. Introduced & qualified several new automation integrators for improved competition on capital acquisition and a broader supplier base. Detailed collaboration with customer and vendors to deliver optimised manufacturing solution. Project completed in 12 months from PO initiation to handover to production. Factory Automation integrated cost effective solutions & improved technologies into existing operations
