Homework Due: next lesson OPTION 1 Create an information leaflet about African djembe drumming. Include : Where it originates from. What it is used for. Key features of African djembe music. OPTION 2 Listen to the African vocal group ‘Ladysmith Black Mambazo’ on youtube. What do you like/dislike about their music? Which songs have you listened to? Which is your favourite? Describe the instruments being used, and any musical features you can hear, e.g. techniques that are being used. Song suggestions: Under African Skies Homeless Diamonds on the soles of her shoes You may also wish to listen to the many collaborations with Paul Simon (e.g. ‘Call Me Al’).
