Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) PPE should not be used as a substitute for: engineering controls work practices administrative controls

Why Wear PPE? Barrier against workplace hazards prevent over exposure To prevent take home contamination prevent exposure to others outside of the work environment

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) OSHA incorporated the regulatory text of the General Industry Safety and Health Standards that have been identified as applicable to construction work into the Safety and Health Regulations for Construction (29 CFR Part 1926) on 6/30/93.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 1926.95 is the "new" PPE standard in construction. Protective Equipment; Final Rule was issued on April 6, 1994.
