History Isaac Newton was born in Seaborne at Woolsthorpe, near Grantham in Lincolnshire 1642 on Christmas day He became Lucasian Professor of Mathematics in 1669

Why is he important to science Isaac Newton invented the telescope. This was a real advance in telescope technology, and ensured his election to membership in the Royal Society . Newton formulated the laws of motion . And it was named after him
