“And” Probabilities

Probability What is the probability of flipping a head AND rolling a 6? What is the probability of rolling a 3 AND then rolling a 2?

Independent Events Suppose you toss three coins. What is the probability of getting three tails? If you have 5 children, what is the probability that all of your children are girls? What is the probability that you correctly guess someone’s combination to their locker? The combination lock is a 3 number sequence, with numbers ranging from 0-39.

More Independent Events What is the probability of rolling double 1’s? What is the probability of rolling doubles? What is the probability of having a combination lock that is 27-27-27? (Numbers 0-39) What is the probability of having a combination lock that is all 3 numbers the same?

Dependent Events I am picking a committee for this class. What is the probability that I randomly choose 3 girls? You have 10 marbles in a bag: 3 blue, 3 red, and 4 yellow. You pick 3 marbles from the bag without replacing them. What is the probability that you picked 3 blue marbles? A three-person jury must be selected at random from a pool of 12 people: 6 men and 6 women. What is the probability of selecting all men? 2 cards are picked at random from a standard deck of 52 cards. What is the probability that the first is a heart, and the 2nd is a club?
