Objective : Learn to find the area of a triangle. Areas of Triangles Objective : Learn to find the area of a triangle.

Area of Triangles To find the area of a triangle, you have to multiply the base by the height, and then divide by 2. Area = base × height 2 or A = b × h

Examples: Example 1: Find the area of the triangle: Steps to finding the area of a triangle: Copy the formula. Substitute the numbers in the formula. 3. Multiply the base and the height. 4. Divide your answer by 2. Write the answer with the unit2 . A = b × h 2 A = 4cm × 6cm A = 24 cm2 A = 12 cm2

Your Examples: Your examples: Find the area of the triangle: 1. 2.

Homework: Find the area of each triangle. 1. b= 25 ft h= 4 ft 2. b= 14 in h= 6 in 3. b= 10 yd h= 8 yd 4. b= 12 m h= 5 m 5. b= 7 cm h= 8 cm 6. 9. 7. 10. 8.
