Also included is the options, extra things for safety or appearance. When buying a car there is always a sticker price. Included in this is the base price, the cost of the engine, chassis and the other basic equipment on the vehicle. Also included is the options, extra things for safety or appearance. Also included is the destination charge, cost of shipping the vehicle from the factory.

Sticker price = Base price + Options + Destination Charge

The dealer’s cost is less than the sticker price, and is generally a percent of the sticker price.

The truck sticker shows a base price of $42,050, with options totaling $2,545, and a destination charge of $450. Consumer Reports shows the dealer cost as 88.7% of the base price and 92.3% of the options. Find the dealer’s cost.
