Every participant in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k has their own dream of reaching the finish line. On September 27 th, 2009 come out and be inspired by 20,000 dreamers… 20,000 runners from over than 40 countries will cross our finish line, giving back to the communities they run through in the process. Last year the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon raised over $1.4 million for 64 local charities including Assaulted Womens Helpine and Epilepsy Toronto. This year our goal is to surpass $1.5 million. With your support, we can make it happen! We work closely with the City, Police, TTC, and City Councillors to minimize disruptions and inconveniences for Toronto residents on September 27th. The Beach 2 - Kingston Rd. & Queen St. On the morning of the 27th, a team of judges will determine which of the neighbourhoods along our course has the best Cheering and Entertainment Centre. The best centre will be judged by how many people are out cheering, the quality of entertainment and the atmosphere. The three winning neighbourhoods will be awarded $6,000, $3,000 and $2,000 for their official charity! Help them win! Queen St. (the Beach) Road Closures during the 20 th annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k on September 27 th, 2009 THERE WILL BE NO PARKING ON QUEENS ST. FROM KINGSTON RD. TO NURSEWOOD RD. FROM 6:00AM - 2:00PM RACE MORNING. To avoid delays, its best to avoid crossing Queen Street between the hours of 8:30am – 1:30pm. For downtown: Use Queen St. or Lakeshore westbound from Coxwell or Leslie For Gardiner & DVP north: Head west on Lakeshore Blvd. from Leslie St. to Gardiner or DVP ramp (Don Roadway ramp open ALL DAY for DVP access). For Ashbridges Bay and the Boardwalk Pub: Access/exit via Coxwell Ave., cross at Lakeshore Blvd. (police assisted) Traffic from Woodbine to Waverly (south of Queen) can leave via Kew Beach Ave. to Woodbine then u-turn on Woodbine south of Queen to get to Lakeshore WB. Residents living south of Queen St. E on Streets from Lee Ave. to Willow Ave. may access/exit their residences by crossing Queen St. E southbound on Wineva Ave only or north and south via Lee Ave. Hartford Ave., Herbert Ave., Kenilworth Ave., Kippendavie Ave., Hambly Ave., Spruce Hill Ave., Beech Ave and Willow Ave, will be changed to two way street access where required during the closures. Access to Silver Birch (south of Queen), Munro Park and Neville Park is via Silver Birch and along the south side of Queen St. Access Road closures on Sunday, September 27th for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon include, but are not limited to: Lakeshore Blvd. from Windermere Ave. to Don Roadway (6:00am – 12:00pm west of Bay St. / 6:00am to 1:00pm East of Bay St.) Lakeshore Blvd. eastbound from Leslie St. to Northern Dancer Blvd. (7:00am – 1:00pm) Queen St from Kingston Rd to Neville Park Blvd. (7:00am – 1:30pm) Front/Eastern Ave. from Bay St. to Kingston Rd.
