Ethical Issues in a Business Kelly and Emily

Ethical Issue An Ethical Issues is a identifiable problem, situation, or opportunity that requires a person to choose from among several actions that may be evaluated as right or wrong, ethical or unethical. An example is an engineer agree to divulge her former employees trade secrets to ensure she gets a better job with a competitor.

The Four Types of Ethical Issues Conflict of Interest Fairness and Honesty Communications Business Relationships

Fairness and Honesty Fairness and honesty are the heart of the business ethics, and relate to the general values of decision makers. Businesspersons are expected to follow the laws and regulations, and by obeying the law they are expected to not to harm customers, employees, clients, or competitors knowingly through deception, misrepresentation, coercion, or discrimination. The camera company Jazz added their covers to used disposable cameras and resold them.

Fairness and Honesty They resold 38.4 million of the Fuji cameras. Also they used Kodak, but they have not pressed charges yet. What jazz did was not fair to the consumers, or the other camera company's. The consumers did not want a used camera, and the companies did not want their cameras reused. All of the companies lost money because Jazz sold the cameras for cheaper then Kodak, or Fiji.

Fairness and Honesty Jazz owed 25 million to Fuji, $3.5 million was for lost profits and $21 million for each of the Fuji cameras at 56 cents each. Some people said "I noticed the yellow right away, and they tried to take the Kodak off, but it says Kodak in the plastic right here." ON TOP OF THAT, THE CAMERA WAS HELD TOGETHER WITH BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE: IT SEEMED SOMEONE HAD RELOADED IT. Brandie Tinker
