All food comes from plants or animals

Food has to be farmed, caught or grown at home Companies making chilled foods order the ingredients they will need weeks in advance, giving the farmer time to produce them. Knowing consumer demand is very important.

From the farmer to the customer

Food has to be prepared carefully to make sure it is safe for us to eat

The bad microbes have to be controlled Companies making chilled foods are responsible for making sure their food is safe to eat - customers complaining of food related illnesses are not good for business. There are lots of controls a company has to go through to make sure it is safe: HACCP
