Oncor Electric Delivery 5 5 Smart Energy Profile v1.0 Pricing Functions Current Price – Sets base price in the HAN device. Next Price – Allows base price to be changed with Start Time in the future. Price Event – Used to allow a temporary change in price (i.e.. Critical Peak Price). A Price Event supersedes all other prices while active and can cut across pricing tiers. Tiered Pricing – 5 pricing tiers supported, each with its own Current Price, Next Price and Price Event with start time and duration. Pricing tiers match the TOU Rate schedule and must be set up and programmed into the meters.

Oncor Electric Delivery 6 6 QUESTIONS?

Oncor Electric Delivery 7 7 Appendix

Oncor Electric Delivery 8 8 Current Price for a Non-TOU Meter Configuration of current price. Beginning on January 1, :00 AM the price is $0.13/kWh and will remain in effect until changed Midnight

Oncor Electric Delivery 9 9 Change Current Price for a Non-TOU Meter Configuration of next price. Between January 1, 2010 and June 1, 2010 the price is $0.13/kWh Price converts from $0.13/kWh to $0.15/kWh June 1, 2010 at 12:00 AM Midnight May 31 June 1

Oncor Electric Delivery 10 Current Price for a Non-TOU Meter On June 1, 2010 at midnight the next price ($0.15/kWh) becomes effective and will remain in effect until changed Midnight

Oncor Electric Delivery 11 Non-TOU Meter The next price position is now available and can be populated.

Oncor Electric Delivery 12 Price Event for a Non-TOU Meter A temporary deviation from the normal price (price event) can be scheduled for any time. On July 10, 2010 from 3:00-6:59 PM the price will be $0.20/kWh. On July 10, 2010 at 7:00 PM the price will return to $0.15/kWh. Midnight

Oncor Electric Delivery 13 Tiered Pricing Support for 5 Pricing Tiers Current price - Sets base price in HAN device Start time (immediate) Duration (until changed) Next Price - Allows base price to be changed with Start Time in the future. Start Time (now or in the future) Duration (until changed) Price event - Used to allow temporary change in price (i.e.. Critical Peak Price) Start Time (now or in the future) Duration

Oncor Electric Delivery 14 Pricing Tiers – Current Price Example The Current Price takes effect at midnight June 1, 2010 and remains in effect until changed. Each associated tiers have their own start time and duration based on the TOU schedule programmed in the meter. The TOU programmed switchpoints trigger these tiered event times.

Oncor Electric Delivery 15 Pricing Tiers – Current Price Example Midnight Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4 Tier 5

Oncor Electric Delivery 16 Pricing Tiers w/Price Event A Pricing event have been added to Tiers 4 and 5 with its own specific start time and duration A temporary deviation from the normal price (price event) can be scheduled for any time. Price Events supersede all normal prices and tiers

Oncor Electric Delivery 17 Pricing Tiers w/Price Event Midnight Price Event Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4 Tier 1

Oncor Electric Delivery 18 Pricing Tiers – Next Price The Next Price feature allows pricing tier changes to occur automatically on a predetermined schedule.

Oncor Electric Delivery 19 Pricing Tiers – Next Price Midnight Tier 1 Tier 2 Tiers 3-5 Tier 1

Oncor Electric Delivery 20 Key Points of Pricing Backhaul network traffic is minimal in scenario where prices will change infrequently. Price events minimize network management tasks and bandwidth usage by allowing a single communication to occur with meter to invoke temporary price changes…restore to current price is automatically accomplished. With TOU, price events can span multiple TOU periods with minimal backhaul traffic. Recurring daily changes in price can be set up as TOU schedule switch points thus better ensuring delivery of price information even with backhaul network abnormalities.
