Review, 1.1-1.2 Iago and Roderigo wake up Brabantio, Desdemona’s father, to tell him that his daughter has run off with Othello. Despite the fact that Othello is well-respected as a general, Brabantio (a Venetian senator) still is not okay with Desdemona marrying Othello because of his race.

Review, 1.1-1.2 Iago pretends to be Othello’s friend and warns him of Brabantio’s anger. Cassio (Othello’s lieutenant) arrives to tell Othello that the Turks are preparing to attack Cyprus and they will soon be at war. Iago tells Cassio that Othello and Desdemona have gotten married. Brabantio angrily confronts Othello and accuses him of some terrible things. Othello does not fight.
