A. Vertkov et al., SC “Red Star”, Moscow, Russia The concept of lithium based plasma-facing elements for steady state fusion tokamak-reactor and its experimental validation A. Vertkov et al., SC “Red Star”, Moscow, Russia 1. Concept of Liquid Metal PFE for steady state operation: Plasma facing material – 0.5 mm thick of W felt based CPS with liquid Lithium. Li amount – 100 g/m2 2 mm/s Lithium flow rate for CPS filling, removal of trapped tritium and accumulated impurities Thin-wall PFE design – 2 mm first wall thick 67% W fiber+ 33% steel Eurofer – first wall material with high heat conductivity (~90 W/mK), and mechanical properties (sy~ 480 MPa , sb~ 480 MPa) Water / gas spray coolant – 2 bar pressure, 70-100 kW m-2 K-1 heat transfer coefficient , coolant consumption: water Gw~ 1 liter / s m2 , gas Ggas~ 25 liter / s m2 Surface temperature ~500 oC at power flux P=10 MW/m2, ~700oC at P=17 MW/m2 2. Design of module of divertor target plate for DEMO type tokamak New New New Temperature Tmax<500oC Stress, Smax=250 MPa Main design scheme Temperature and stress analysis
