Be The Transformative Change Sue Liu The Collaboratory, LLC November 4, 2014

Transformative Change Initiative The Transformative Change Initiative (TCI) is dedicated to assisting community colleges to scale up innovations that improve student outcomes and program, organization, and system performance. The Transformative Change Initiative Office of Community College Research and Leadership and The Collaboratory

Transformative Change Initiative Utilizing the window of opportunity with TAACCCT, TCI has been cultivating a growing and powerful community of TAACCCT grantees dedicated to scaling impact. TCI is managed in partnership with The Office of Community College Research and Leadership at University of Illinois and The Collaboratory, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates, Lumina, and Joyce Foundations. The Transformative Change Initiative Office of Community College Research and Leadership and The Collaboratory

Transformative Change Initiative (TCI) The TCI Community engages in participatory learning experiences to explore scaling innovations, gain critical insights and exchange ideas with peers, and hear from national experts on transformative change strategies. The Transformative Change Initiative Office of Community College Research and Leadership and The Collaboratory

Transformative Change Initiative (TCI) TCI, through the Collaboratory, holds a series of learning events, that includes hosting a Learning Lab each year, webinars, and conference calls with thought leaders, and hosts a virtual platform to share ideas and promising practices. TCI through OCCRL is also currently engaging in applied research with the TAACCCT community on the guiding principles of scaling change, implementing a community of practice for TAACCCT evaluators, and documenting successful scaling strategies and practices of TAACCCT consortia. The Transformative Change Initiative Office of Community College Research and Leadership and The Collaboratory

Defining Transformative Change TCI defines transformative change as raising the individual, organizational, and system performance of community colleges to unprecedented levels without sacrificing their historic commitment to access and equity. The Transformative Change Initiative Guiding Principles Guiding principles rooted in research and practitioner input provide direction for scaling innovation. They allow for multiple stakeholders and actions to take place and bring about change. The beauty of guiding principles is that they facilitate action and as a result, innovation occurs in ways that achieve the intended outcomes in complex environments. Guiding principles also reflect the underlying knowledge and beliefs that sustain change and grow impact. Below are the eight guiding principles that frame the scaling of transformative change.
