CECOM LAR Tropo Operation Course PP-7904 & PP-7905 Low Voltage Power Supplies and DC Voltage Distribution Units CECOM LAR Course Logistics Assistance Division Fort Monmouth, New Jersey In this class we will discuss the PP-7904 LVPS-1 and the PP-7905 LVPS-2 Low Voltage Power Supplies to include the DC distribution units bus bars. Low Voltage Power Supplies

CECOM LAR Tropo Operation Course Purpose To provide all the DC Voltages to all the units within the TROPO system excluding the (DGM) equipment. The outputs from these two Low Voltage Power Supplies are coupled to DC Distribution Units. Recap purpose: The PP-7904 LVPS-1 and the PP-7905 LVPS-2 Low Voltage Power Supplies provide the DC Voltages to all the units within the TROPO system excluding the DGM Equipment. The outputs from these two Low Voltage Power Supplies are coupled to DC distribution unit bus bars and then distributed to various assemblies within the TROPO system. The AN/TRC-170(V)2 and AN/TRC-170(V)3 both contain these two Low Voltage Power Supplies. The PP-7904 is called LVPS-1 and the PP-7905 is called LVPS-2. LVPS-1 supplies only positive voltages and LVPS-2 provides both negative voltages as well as positive voltages. Low Voltage Power Supplies

PP-7904 LVPS-1 Block Diagram CECOM LAR Tropo Operation Course PP-7904 LVPS-1 Block Diagram Now lets take a look at the Block Diagram for the PP-7904 called the LVPS-1. Please refer to FO 3-1. Follow the Signal Flow: 1. AC Voltage Input: the filtered 115 VAC 3-phase, 50/60/400 Hertz input is applied to EMI Filter FL1. 2. FL1: the 3-phase input AC is first applied to the EMI Filter FL1, which reduces emissions on the input lines. The output of the this filter is coupled to bridge rectifier circuit CR1 and the auxiliary power supply transformer T1. 3. CR1: is a 3-phase bridge rectifier circuit that produces the unregulated +/-150 VDC that is sent to all four power circuit card assemblies. 4. T1 transformer & associated circuitry : transformer T1 is a step down transformer that steps down the 115 VAC input and associated circuitry rectifiers this AC voltage to produce a +20VDC output that is sent to all four power circuit cards. 5. A1 CCA +5.3 VDC: receives inputs of +/-150 VDC and +20 VDC and provides an output of +5.3 VDC (A) rated at 22 Amps. 6. A2 CCA +28 VDC: receives inputs of +/-150 VDC and +20 VDC and provides an output of +28 VDC (A) rated at 8 Amps. 7.
