Question What soil will make the sunflower seed germinate the fastest?`

Why I choose this project I choose this project because I would like to know if regular dirt makes sunflower seeds grow faster or does fertilized dirt. I Know that plants can grow in both, but I want to see which one works better. I also choose this project, because I want to know what kind of oil to plant my plants in next year.

Hypothesis If the sunflower seed goes into the topsoil of the dirt it will germinate the fastest.

Independent, controlled, dependent variables. Independent variable: Type of soil Dependent variable: Which seed germinated the fastest Controlled variable: Same amount of sun/water, same seed, and same planting environment.

Procedures; Buy sunflower seeds and pot. Put sunflower seeds in each pot. Put dirt from the ground in first pot, put fertilized soil in second pot. Put one cups of water in each pot with sunflower seed. Put flowers in sun. Record data while it grows every day for four days.

Days Day: 1 Day: 2 Day: 3 Day: 4 0 cm Fertilized 1 cm 1.5 cm Not .5 cm Data Days Day: 1 Day: 2 Day: 3 Day: 4 Fertilized 0 cm 1 cm 1.5 cm Not .5 cm

Conclusion My question was what soil will make the sunflower germinate the fastest. I firstly bought my seeds and pots. Then I put my sunflower seeds in each pot. One pot had soil from the ground, and one had fertilized soil. I gave the plants a cup of water everyday. I watched the sunflowers grow over a period of four days. My hypothesis does support my data because in my hypothesis I said If the sunflower seed goes into the fertilized soil then it will germinate the fastest and that was true. I learned that sunflower seeds grow faster in fertilized soil.My promblem that occured was it took the seeds a couple days too grow when I only thought it would be a day. I would use different seeds instead of different soils. I would record my data longer. Also i would have used more water and had more sunlight on the plants.
