Subcutaneous Injections Varicella (LIVE) 1st Dose 12-15 months 2nd Dose 4-6 years Note- If Varicella and MMR are not given on the same day the doses must be separated by at least 4 weeks. MMR (LIVE) 1st Dose 12-15 months 2nd Dose 4-6 years No longer necessary to avoid pregnant women or immunocompromised people after receiving vaccine

Oral Vaccines Rotavirus (RotaTeq) 1st Dose 2months 2nd Dose 4 months 3rd Dose 6 months *Max age for Rota virus vaccine is 8-months 0-days Rotarix (Rotavirus) 1st Dose 2 months 2nd Dose 4 months

Approprite Vaccine Site Intramuscular Injections Birth-4 years IM- Vastus lateralis Needle size IM - Birth to 5months in VL- 5/8in. Needle size IM- 6month to 4 years in VL- 1in. 4years-6years IM (depending on wt. of child)- Deltoid with needle size 5/8in. 7years and older IM (depending on wt. of child) - Deltoid with 1in. Needle Subcutaneous Injections Give in back of arms or in thighs using a TB syringe.
