“God-Honoring Stewardship” Part 7 (Thankfulness starts with the person of God) Psalm 100

Are you more likely to praise other people or find fault in them? Do you find yourself enjoying relationships with people because of what they do for you, or because of who they are? Are you drawn to relationships with those who have authority over you, or where you have authority over them? Are you more likely to praise other people or find fault in them?

Hebrews 13:12-15

So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through His own blood. Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp and bear the reproach He endured.

that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Through Him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name.

How can you speak good, when you are evil? You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34

1. We can genuinely experience thankfulness to God when He truly is our God. Vs. 1-3

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!

Know that the LORD, He is God! It is He who made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

The Lord’s Table The Bread 1 Corinthians 11:23-24

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

2. We can genuinely experience thankfulness to God when we truly seek to enjoy being in His presence. Vs. 5-6

Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!

His steadfast love endures forever, For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

The Lord’s Table The Cup 1 Corinthians 11:25-26

In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
