Presentation transcript:

This is where your university logo goes Type Your Poster Title Here This is where you put your name, year and where you are presenting this poster This is where your university logo goes Context and background Make sure you include the rationale for your experiment and the key literature your experiment is based on. Don’t go into too much detail though, you don’t have a lot of space. Aims and objectives You must clearly state your aims and hypotheses here: the reader must be very clear about what it is you are trying to investigate and find out. Methods You need to summarize your method here Don’t forget to include the basic elements just as you would in a normal lab report. This might be a poster, but it follows the same pattern. You can use bullet points here if it’s a bit easier Can make it all a lot easier to read, particularly for non-specialists in your project area Make sure you include enough detail on your procedure so it is clear what you have done in your experiment. You want people to focus on the results you’ve presented rather than ask questions about what you did.                                         Results You must put only your most interesting results here – you probably don’t have space to report everything you found. Stick to main interactions and analyses unless you have space for more. Don’t think that shrinking the font will help you it will just make people squint when they’re reading your poster, then you’ll give them a headache when all you want is to give them information. It is better to have interested people asking you questions than grumpy people will all the information walking away with eye strain! Space for a graph, picture or table here Space for a graph, picture or table here Space for a graph, picture or table here Space for a graph, picture or table here Space for a graph, picture or table here Space for a graph, picture or table here Discussion and Conclusions It’s good to put conclusions in a separate box, it makes them stand out. If you have space link to the previous research you mention in your introduction, but try not to include your entire discussion as this really is just a space for conclusions – you don’t have space on a poster for a full discussion. Interested people can ask if they want to discuss any of your results with you. Make sure you include your most important main conclusions here and why you drew those conclusions. References Type your references in here I recommend you use bullet points here It makes it very clear that each reference is separate
