Presentation transcript:

LADEE Teacher Professional Development Workshop The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer mission (LADEE), to be launched from NASA’s Wallops Island facility on September 6, 2013, was showcased in a recent teacher professional development workshop, held at Wallops Island, VA on August 29, 2013. Nineteen middle and high school teachers participated, including a teacher educator and pre-service science teachers from nearby Salisbury University Participants received briefings about LADEE and lessons about the moon and lunar exploration Participants enjoyed a number of ‘hands-on’ activities, including building and testing their own “satellites” The participants were very excited that they were able to view LADEE on the launch pad, and they are very much looking forward to returning for discussions during the mission.  The feedback from the participants was very positive and they stated that they would use the resources and lessons in the classrooms.
