Mutually advantageous and in the public interest for agencies to coordinate and assist in each others effort in prevention detection and suppression wildland fires. Forest Service and BLM have entered into agreements with Local Fire Service Organizations having adjoining jurisdiction or protection responsibilities.

COOPERATIVE FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT Between USDA FOREST SERVICE HUMBOLDT-TOIYABE NATIONAL FOREST CARSON RANGER DISTRICT And THE SIERRA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT This Cooperative Fire Protection Agreement is made and entered into by and between the following entities, who may be referred to herein jointly as the PARTIES: (1) the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Carson Ranger District, referred to as Federal Agency and (2) the Sierra Fire Protection District, hereinafter referred to collectively as the Department. After the introductory header our (FS and BLM) formatting will be different but we will have mostly the same clauses and similar wording: Purpose Etc.
