CHAPTER 1 – END QUESTIONS Think about yourself, you are one member of the species Homo sapiens, how does the concept of Unity apply to you and other life on Earth? how does Diversity apply to our species and to others? Why is evolution the unifying theme for all biology? If DNA is shared by every living thing then what possibilities does that open up for us to explore? Think about your body, you exist at a certain scale, if you went one scale level down what would you find? if you went one scale level up what would you find? If you had to take inventory for two million different items what would be one of your first steps? Why is the 21st century an excellent time to be studying biology? What are some ways biology is going to change your life? You are in the bookstore and you see someone standing in line. You want to know why s/he is standing there, so how might you use the Scientific Method in this situation?
