September 2017 Background Wake-up operating parameters are used to govern WUR mode operation. Example wake-up operating parameters: WUR Beacon interval, Minimum wake-up duration, Basic unit, STA identifier, Time required for turning on PCR, Duty cycle schedule of the WURx, … Lei Huang (Panasonic)

September 2017 Observation Wake-up operating parameters can be classified into two types: Common: applicable to all of WUR STAs indicated by AP, e.g., WUR Beacon interval Minimum wake-up duration Basic unit User-specific: applicable to a particular WUR STA. Some can be negotiated between STA and AP, e.g., Duty cycle schedule of the WURx Some are indicated by AP, e.g., STA identifier for unicast wake-up frame Some are indicated by STA, e.g., Time required for turning on PCR Some wake-up operating parameters are related. For example, Before WUR STA negotiates duty cycle schedule with AP, it shall be able to know the minimum wake-up duration and basic unit from AP Lei Huang (Panasonic)

September 2017 Proposal Common wake-up operating parameters shall be indicated in Beacon frame, Probe Response frame and/or (Re)association Response frame. User-specific wake-up operating parameters shall be communicated in WUR Action frame and/or (Re)association Request/Response frame. Negotiation of user-specific wake-up operating parameters may be done during the association procedure. Lei Huang (Panasonic)
