THE MESETA LAND RELIEF IN SPAIN La Meseta

The Meseta Central is the major landform on the Iberian Peninsula The Meseta Central is the major landform on the Iberian Peninsula. It is surrounded by mountain chains. Submeseta norte: Has an average altitude of 750 m. and is occupied by the Duero watershed. It is characterised by flat landforms and highlands. Sistema Central: is the mountain chain that runs across the Meseta from east to west. This chain includes the Gredos, Somosierra and Guadarrama mountain ranges. It is divided in two sections: 2. Submeseta Sur: Has an average altitude of 650 m. It is crossed by the Montes de Toledo, which separate the Tajo and Guadiana watersheds. The middle part of the Submeseta Sur is called La Mancha.
