Volunteer Role Description for: Location: Main contact: Volunteer Administrator Ballymena Rehoming Centre Aimee Bird Volunteer Co-ordinator Purpose of the role: To support the working of Dogs Trust by completing a variety of administrative tasks for the reception. Skills/experience required: Good IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook and use of the internet for research. A willingness to help with a range of tasks in the office and to undertake tasks as required. Experience of and the ability to provide a friendly, high quality service to staff, volunteers and members of the general public. Good communicator and excellent telephone manner. Good attention to detail. Confident and approachable manner. Friendly, enthusiastic and able to encourage others. Common sense approach to problem solving. Organised with ability to manage and prioritise workload. Ability to follow instruction. Trustworthy and honest. Ability to work comfortably in a close knit team or alone. Conscientious with a can-do attitude. An interest in dogs and dog welfare Ability to use their discretion and ensure confidentiality. Key tasks: To compose letters and emails as requested. To handle telephone enquiries when needed. Keeping information up to date on spreadsheets. Other administration tasks as requested by Dogs Trust staff Time commitment: Ideally we are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least two shifts a week and come regularly. Shift hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30-12:00 or 12:00-16:00 Volunteer Appointment Process: Volunteer application form Interview Selection (successful / unsuccessful) References taken Induction session (1 ½ hours) On the job training

Complete a volunteer induction session, this will be held at your location, and complete any other additional training as required. Make new people welcome and work well within the team.
