1869 - Chekhov moved in the house of a merchant in the Mosaic Fairground, where father had a shop.

1868 - Chekhov goes to school.

In 1880 - Chekhov put in the journal"Dragonfly" story "Letter to the scientist neighbors" Humoresque "What is most often found in novels, stories." It was his debut in print.

Chekhov collaborates with the journal"spectator", "Alarm", "Light and shadow", "worldly sense," "Fragments". Writes in the genre of the short story.

In 1885-1889 - Chekhov begins professional literary career as an employee of the monthly magazine "Northern Herald," the "Russian idea", "Life".

1884 - published the first book of short stories Chekhov - "Tales of Melpomene."

1885-1889 - "Steppe", "Name", "Fit", "A Boring Story", collections of "In the twilight", "innocent question", "Stories," "Gloomy people."

1887 - The collection of short stories "in the twilight."

November 19, 1887 - Premiere of Chekhov's play "Ivanov" in a Moscow theater Korsch. Summer, 1889 - the death of the brother of writer Nicholas. Shortly after the funeral, Chekhov went to Odessa.  

1886 - 1890 years. - The house on Sadovo-Kudrinskaya. These years are written - "A Boring Story" and the play "Goblin" ("Uncle Vanya"). The story "The Steppe," vaudeville "The Bear", "Swan Song."

1888 - by the decision of the Academy of Sciences of Chekhov gets half of the Pushkin Prize for the third collection of short stories "In the twilight."

1890 – A.P. Chekhov on Sakhalin Island

1892 - Chekhov bought the place Melikhovo.

1896 - on the stage of the St. Petersburg Theatre of Alexandria premiere of the play "The Seagull." In 1898, "The Seagull" was staged at the Moscow Art Theatre and went to the ongoing success .

1895 - Chekhov visited Yasnaya Polyana and to know the L.N Tolstim.

1892 - 1898 years. - Created: "House number 6", "Man in a Case", "petticoat", "Ionich," "Goosebumps". Written large "country cycle" works, such as "man," "a cart", "New Villa", "on business" story "Three years," the play "The Seagull," "Uncle Vanya."

1898 Chekhov went to Yalta. There he begins to build a house. Designed by Shapovalov was built beautiful home (Chekhov Garden).

Vesna1900 - in Crimea comes to tour the Moscow Art Theatre. Chekhov sent to Sevastopol, where for him give "Uncle Vanya."

May 25, 1901 - Anton Chekhov married   with O.L. Knipper,

In 1901 he wrote and staged the play "Three Sisters." Cover the first separate edition of the play "Three Sisters" (1901) with the portraits of the first to perform at the Arts Theatre - Savitskaya (Olga), Knipper (Masha) and Andreev (Irina).
