Orienting our Day - Friday The Lord dwells with the Brokenhearted

Your Love Is Strong Heavenly Father, you always amaze me Let your kingdom come in my world and in my life You give me the food I need to live through the day And forgive me as I forgive the people that wronged me Lead me far from temptation Deliver me from the evil one I look out the window the birds are composing Not a note is out of tune or out of place I look at the meadow and stare at the flowers Better dressed than any girl on her wedding day So why do I worry? Why do I freak out? God knows what I need You know what I need Your love is, Your love is, Your love is strong The kingdom of the heavens, is now advancing Invade my heart, invade this broken town The kingdom of the heavens, is buried treasure Will you sell yourself to buy the one you've found? Two things you told me That you are strong And you love me Yes you love me Your love is, Your love is, Your love is strong Our God in heaven, hallowed be Thy name above all names Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us today our daily bread Forgive us wicked sinners Lead us far away from our vices And deliver us from these prisons - Jon Foreman

Principle and Foundation As Christians we believe we come from a loving God who freely creates each one to seek and find Gods life forever, as one humanity, one planet and one universe. As Christians we believe we come from a loving God who freely creates each one to seek and find Gods life forever, as one humanity, one planet and one universe. As Christians we believe God creates all other things that we may discover in them Gods presence and action and begin now to share Gods own life, by learning to love one another and to care for our kinship with all the other creatures that so wonderfully share, sustain and support our lives. It follows that we will find our true selves in a freedom to choose what helps to share our lives with others, not what hinders this. To come to this freedom we need at all times, where it is left to our own choice, to hold ourselves open and ready for all things, wealth or poverty, fame or disgrace, health or sickness, a long life or a short one, and with everything else. So we want to be graced by God into a spiritual freedom that is both deeply interior and gratefully responsive to Gods prior love in creating us, to desire and choose in all things what better helps each of us to share the life for which God has made us all. ~ A contemporary version by John Reilly sj,

Our Many Dwelling Places

we are...

we are the refugees... who move by night and hide by day we are the refugees... who move by night and hide by day

outcasts fleeing by moonlight hiding in shadows evading enemy eyes escaping anonymous gunfire escaping anonymous gunfire

frantic bleeding frightened torn. frantic bleeding frightened torn.

Snagged in barbed wire accosted by footsteps

bitten by humankind assailed by brothers mocked by sisters

Tormented weeping trembling lost.

we are the refugees who move by night and hide by day by Ruth McLean

Points for Reflection Today Am I open and ready for all things that may come today? Am I open and ready for all things that may come today? Do I feel gratefully responsive to Gods love in creating us? Do I feel gratefully responsive to Gods love in creating us? Do I desire and choose all things that help each one of us to share the life God has made for us all? Do I desire and choose all things that help each one of us to share the life God has made for us all? Do I feel a sense of spiritual freedom as we begin this time together today? Do I feel a sense of spiritual freedom as we begin this time together today?

Responsorial Psalm – Ps. 34 Refrain Taste and see, O taste and see, taste and see the goodness of God. 1. Glory, glory to God most high, glory, blessing and praise. With one voice, O people, rejoice in our God, who hears the cry of all in need. 2. Who has fashioned the earth and sky, who created the deep, who exalts the lowly and sets captives free, who opens the door to all those who seek. 3. Oh, the love of God! Become flesh of our flesh, so that we might live in glory. Text: Based on Psalm 34:9, 2-4; 136:5-6; Luke 1:52. Text and music © 1988, Bob Hurd. Published by OCP. All rights reserved.
