Presentation transcript:

Informal meeting of cryogenic payload Kazuhiro Yamamoto Institute for Cosmic Ray Research University of Tokyo At first, thank you for giving a chance talk here. In fact, I have been in Trento in 2002, eight years ago. I am happy because I can visit here again. OK, shall we start ? This is the title of my talk of today. Gravitational wave and detectors. 8 July 2011

What are issues ? (1)How to assemble Details of construction, clean room …. (2)Strength Tensile strength, development of clamp, sapphire bonding … (3)Control system Actuators (what and where), resonant mode (frequency and Q)

What are issues ? (4)Cooling Temperature of mirror, initial cooling time, heat resistance of clamp … (5)Noise Thermal noise, vibration via heat links …

What is our plan (in long term) ? This is just a proposal, not official strategy of LCGT project (at least, up to now). (1)Prototype cryostat and payload : Main target : test of cooling However, almost all fundamental items should be checked using this prototype. (2)Test in LCGT cryostat (I) Payload is not connected to vibration isolation system. How to support payload ? Measurement of actual heat load ?

What is our plan (in long term) ? This is just a proposal, not official strategy of LCGT project (at least, up to now). (3)Test in LCGT cryostat (II) Payload is connected to vibration isolation system.

What is our plan (in short term) ? First design of cryogenic payload Motivation : Basis of discussion of development for payload (Modal analysis and so on) Before 22nd of July, the parameters for this design must be prepared. Could we use (or refer) the parameters of prototype of cryogenic payload of Rome group ?

Thank you for your attention ! Vi ringrazio molto per la vostra attenzione !
