Main Challenges to PHE 1. Main Policy Priorities for PHE The new Law on Higher Education and Science: Recognises and defines Professional HEIs Highlights the fact that PHEIs conduct teaching taking into account needs of their socio-economic surroundings Enhances the practical profile of studies Concrete actions stemming from the legal act: Extention of the duration of apprenticeship to 6 months for the practical profile studies at first-cycle and long-cycle master degrees, Dual studies Industrial doctorate programme „Excellence in teaching” initiative – additional funding for up to 15 Professional HEIs for improving the quality of teaching in programmes with practical profile. kasia
