Story:“Breaking Through” Unit-5 Week-1 Theme: Mentors Story:“Breaking Through”

Genre Autobiographical Story- A story that tells of specific periods of a person’s life written and often embellished by that person.

Strategy Evaluate -You must call upon your own critical judgment to understand a text. Good readers read the text closely to find evidence f the authors purpose.

Skill Authors Purpose- Authors write to entertain, to instruct, to inquire, or to persuade. Understanding an author’s purpose for writing helps readers evaluate and make judgments about the piece they are reading.

Reputation The Publics opinion or reception of something or someone The scholar’s reputation was ruined when he was caught cheating

Uttered To Express aloud The teacher got angry when a student uttered an answer during a test.
