God is glorified, saints are edified, & the loss are hearing the gospel of grace. And now, here we are finishing up our first trimester of small groups. The trimester began on January 6 and is just concluding on April 13. We will be celebrating our small group communities on three different days, which we call “CONNECT.” The first Connect Network begins on Wednesday April 17 at 7 PM in the sanctuary. A week later on Wednesday April 24 at 7 PM the second Connect Network takes place. The final Connect will be on Sunday April 28 at 1 PM (right after worship service – with a great lunch). Here’s the deal… This is a network of connecting people to God & to other saints. If you’ve been trying to get up the nerve to invite a co-worker, or neighbor, or family member to church, this is your greatest opportunity because CONNECT is a time of festivities, great meals, presentations, fellowship, and just good fun! For those who are members of CTW, please bring a dish as all foods are donated and prepared by CTW members. CTW Leadership Looks Forward To Seeing Everyone At CONNECT... As soon as he took office, this young king focused on the House of God, and got rid of all things that were not glorifying to God, & he did an entire cleansing of the temple. We thank God that at CTW there are no sinful things on the campus; however, the house is in need of repair, restoration, & constant cleaning. Like the king, we are calling all saints that call CTW their home to come out and pitch in as the house is put in order. If you need a ride just let us know and we’ll arrange some car pools. See Alice Gleaton, David Rhea, Becky McCleary, or John Moreno if you need more information about our Church Work Day. Let’s keep CTW beautiful! Sunday: April 14, 2013 Excerpt from Service on August 5, 2012– “Fellowship” – Text 1 John 1:3-4  We have once again arrived at our trimester break that we call “CONNECT.” For some of us this is a new experience at CTW; for others you’ve been here before, and still for others you saw the beginning and the evolution of our discipleship model, including the trimester breaks. John’s letter is filled with connect concepts, which begins and ends in Christ. Our theme at “Connect” is always fellowship – with God, others in the faith, & our communities.  You Can’t Keep It Unless You Give It Away. This is a recovery term; yet the greatest recovery program ever done was implemented 2000 years ago on the cross. It was God’s desire to recover the lost. He said in the Old Testament: “I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak…” (Ezek 34:16). We see the manifestation of this truth in the NT with the Words of Jesus: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).  Believers in Christ are recipients of God’s recovery program. We benefits from our salvation when we give away the truth found in the message of the cross. Our text begins with: "That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you" (1 John 1:3). John first acknowledges that they first saw & heard; it was only after these things that they were given authority to share the truth with others. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what it was that we received because that which we received we must also deliver. 1 Cor 15:1-2 “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you— unless you believed in vain.” I feel like that sometimes – like I preach in vain because we lose our cohesion and purpose when we become scattered in the name of Christianity. Did you know that the crusaders came with a Bible in one hand a gun in the other? We need to have a different approach to the gospel, and that happens only by being recipients of the truth. What is the truth? The truth is the gospel & the gospel is the death, burial & resurrection of the Messiah. 1 Cor 15:3-4 “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”  Believers in Christ are deliverers of God’s recovery plan. Can anyone hear the gospel and not want to share the message? We share our spiritual experiences with others by our lives and our words. Once we have received the truth, we are commissioned to pass on that same message, like minute men quickly delivering a crucial message. “Devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching” (1 Tim 4:13). We are to devote our lives to the delivery of the gospel. Sharing the gospel is a part of how we connect.
