Have you heard of a “carbon footprint”? A carbon footprint is a measure of how much CARBON DIOXIDE is being put into the atmosphere. Too much CO2 and we may cause climate change and global warming. Your carbon footprint is a measure of how much of carbon you put into the atmosphere. Similarly, your ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT is a measure of how much of an impact you have on nature.

How can you reduce your footprint? Read along on the different ways you can reduce your ecological footprint. Raise your hand if you can discuss a point further, or if it is something you or your family does to reduce your ecological footprint.

Activity – Poster of Ways to Reduce Footprint Fold your paper in half, making 4 boxes in all (front and back). Write your name in the top right corner. Choose 4 ways to reduce your footprint. Label each box at the top with the method to reduce your footprint. Draw and color a detailed illustration to explain the method.
