Galactic Republic-Star Wars Galactic Republic- Every solar system sent a representative to the galactic meetings. Meetings were conducted on a voluntary basis. Each system could choose to participate or not, according to their choice. However, the laws that were created were enforced across the entire galaxy to promote the general well-being of trade and to prevent conflict between solar systems. While all the representatives had an equal say in the galactic republic, the representatives were not voted to their positions. The representatives gained their power by inheriting it through family blood lines. No member was more powerful than any other member because all members had only one vote each.

Lion King The Kingdom was broken into the different provinces; each was controlled by a lion. The capital, Pride Rock, was controlled by Mufasa. However, the remaining kingdoms were run by other members of the royal family. Most famously, the Elephant Graveyard was controlled by Scar, Mufasa’s brother. While all the family members were given power to control their own areas, Mufasa was ultimately in charge, and he had full control of the entire kingdom. If he became upset with the method or manner in which his family controlled the area, he could remove them from power. Upon Mufasa’s untimely death in a freak herding incident, his royal position was passed down to his son, Simba.

Council of Elrond- Lord of the Rings The Council of Elrond was formed in order to work together to ensure peace and tranquility in Middle Earth. Many different lands in Middle Earth were represented in this council. While each land had its own local government, they each sent representatives to this meeting in order to deal with common problems. Each of the representatives had equal say and could decide not to take action if they chose. The representatives were not voted into office, but they inherited the position through family blood lines. At one meeting, they dealt with the problem of a rise in evil coming from Mordor, a land not represented in the council. Some lands decided not to participate in the eradication of the evil one. However, others decided to work together in order to handle the issue. Ultimately, the council decided that throwing jewelry in lava would solve their problem.

Star Wars- Galactic Empire Soon after the fall of the Galactic Republic, Chancellor Palpatine took full control of the galaxy and disbanded all representation from the member solar systems. He created a government in which he had full control. He also took on a young apprentice, Darth Vader, to help him with his affairs in the galaxy. When the Chancellor died, he planned on giving all of his ruling power to his apprentice, Darth Vader. Unfortunately, the government suffered a major loss when their extra-large killing machine blew up for the second time.

Divergent A new system of government was created in Chicago. It contained five factions or regions. Each region had its own responsibilities and managed itself for the most part. However, a central government was also created to make decisions regarding the society as a whole. The people of the society would vote to determine who would be the chief executive in charge of managing the city, and they would also vote to determine who would be in charge of creating the laws.
