One flew over the cuckoo’s nest Biographical information of movie: Title, Year, Director Author and Director Biography: previous work, influences. Throughout the movie, note the setting. This includes the specific location, the time period/era of the film, and weather. Characters Identify the main and supporting characters of the film. Determine if they are “flat” or “round” Note if a character changes from flat to round. Evaluate Personalities- Focus on BIG 5/CANOE from Unit 10. Note the antagonist/protagonists

Director Milos Forman Originally from Czechoslovakia, 1932. Parents served as members of the anti-Nazi underground Both died in concentration camps Later discovers his biological father is a Jewish architect. during the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, 1968, he moves to the united states.

Director Milos Forman Other movies of note Amadeus, People VS. Larry Flynt, and Man on the Moon Amadeus nominated for 11 academy awards, won 8 Also won awards from golden globes, the Cannes film festival, and others for a number of movies.

Milos Forman Forman had a personal connection to the film. He stated in 2012: "To me [the story] was not just literature but real life, the life I lived in Czechoslovakia from my birth in 1932 until 1968. The Communist Party was my Nurse Ratched, telling me what I could and could not do; what I was or was not allowed to say; where I was and was not allowed to go; even who I was and was not. Forman died April 2018
