COMBINING LIKE TERMS & DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY

IN AN EXPRESSION, TERMS ARE SEPERATED BY PLUS OR MINUS SIGNS 7x + 5 – 3y + 2x m + m + k + k + t

LIKE TERMS CAN BE GROUPED TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE SAME VARIABLE RAISED TO THE SAME POWER 7x + 5 – 3y + 2x m + m + k + k + t

COMBINE LIKE TERMS t + t – t + r – r = 5x + 3x = 5m2 – 2m + 8 – 3m + 6 =

COMBINE LIKE TERMS 6a + 8a + 4b + 7 = k2 + 3n – 2n + 4k2 =
