Finding out about conferences: a great resource: the Linguist List talk to faculty about conferences/mailing lists in specific areas student conferences: Illinois Language and Linguistics Society ILLS 1 & 2 4th floor bulletin boards Categories of presentations: Independent papers Thematic panel proposals (watch for different deadlines!) Posters (ask for format guidelines!)
