The majority of Sikhs live in the Punjab, an area divided between India and Pakistan.

A Sikh temple is called ??  A gurdwara (‘gateway to the guru’) Gurdwaras are the main centres of prayer and devotional life. The main hall is usually plainly decorated; no statues or images focus is on sacred scripture. Sikhs do not have a specific day of the week they consider holy. In Canada, they often go to a gurdwara on Sundays because it works with our customs.
