SLG Recommendations from our 2017 annual meeting Community participation Spoke projects interactions Generating an atlas Improving animation Bioinformatic quality control and data standard Standard terms used to annotate data Metadata to enhance the longevity of FaceBase data How to facilitate the citation of FaceBase data?

GUDMAP 1 2005-2011 GUDMAP 2 2011-2016 GUDMAP 3 2016-2021 www.gudmap.org

LUNGMAP 2014-2019 www.lungmap.net

Discussion about FaceBase, GUDMAP, LungMAP consortia Common and important issues to consider: To develop/integrate multi-dimensional molecular anatomy atlas to facilitate discovery How do we connect our data back to anatomy? How do we combine imaging, gene expression, enhancer and other data to enable new insights? 2. To bring computer scientists and computational biologists to fill gaps in our data How do we leverage advances in pattern recognition and machine learning? 3. To support discovery research: how do we improve the usage of animal models to gain a better understanding of human diseases

FaceBase 3.0: an NIDCR–funded resource for the craniofacial research community Promotes multidisciplinary collaboration and research in craniofacial development, molecular genetics, and genomics Works to integrate genomic and phenotype data from multiple species Includes research on the developmental biology and genetics of a variety of craniofacial structures Provides large datasets to members of the research community for use in their own projects It must be a living document and serve as a portal where everyone wants to put their data for sharing
