Example: Micromixer

Micromixer Purpose of the mixer Mix the solutes in two streams with no moving parts It should be cheap and easy to fabricate It works through lamination of the streams and the mixing is obtained through diffusion. This implies that the mixing effect is obtained through decreased diffusion length.

Micromixing device Micromixer - Geometry outlet inlet multilamination

Problem definition Micromixer - Geometry Navier-Stokes Diffusion-convection Unit cell

Flow and concentration distribution Micromixer - Results Flow and concentration distribution Mixing through diffusion perpendicular to the flow
