You Be You(nique) What makes you special?

What’s inside? There are 7,500 varieties of apples in the world. Inside each one is a star. You can find the star in every apple if you cut it in half, across the center of the apple - not lengthwise. “You can count the seeds in an apple, but you can’t count the apples in a seed.” Unknown

Huh??? People are like apples. People, like apples, come in all different colors, sizes, and shapes. Inside each one of us are seeds of potential. We all have a “star” inside of us that makes us special. People are like apples. Huh???

How will you feed your seeds of potential? Part of growing and learning is figuring out your strengths. Think about the following: What motivates me? What are my best abilities? How do peers influence me? When and with whom am I at my best? Who are my best sources of help? How can I do more of what will best help me to succeed?

Your unique gifts and talents have to be fed. Let’s go back to the apple seeds...Not every seed becomes an apple tree. The seed needs the right mix of soil, sun, water, and air to grow into a tree. Your unique gifts and talents have to be fed. Answering the questions will help you work towards being the best YOU can be.

Now you have a chance to show your uniqueness. Every student will receive a square with a quarter of a circle drawn on it from your Advisory Teacher. Make it yours - draw, color, post a quote - each one will be unique. Turn it into your Advisory Teacher and watch for the end product!
