Bell work Technology & History, pg. 711 Copy and Answer the question in book and the following: When did Henry Ford first use the moving assembly line?

Sec. 3 “A Booming Economy” After World War I the American economy experienced a recession, or economic downturn, which lasted about 2 years. Then technology made rapid industrial growth possible, industries used: electricity scientific management- hiring experts to study how goods could be produced more quickly assembly line – mass production technique

Propaganda techniques learned during WWI were now used to persuade consumers to buy a particular brand. To market national brands, businesses spent more & more money on advertising – commercial advertisement was born. Installment buying – consumers could buy goods by promising to pay small, regular amounts over a period of time.

The Automobile Age America quickly became a “car culture”, in which people’s lives revolved around the automobile. Henry Ford built Model T using assembly line making the car affordable – less than $300 by 1924. Car had impact on other industries. Name some

Those left behind Despite all the prosperity, many Americans did not share in the boom of the 1920s: Farmers Railroad industry Coal mining industry By 1929 nearly 3/4th of families had incomes below the accepted level necessary for comfortable living.
