Vincent van Gogh Olandų tapytojas, postimpresionistas, grafikas. Gimė pastoriaus Teodoro van Gogo ir Anos Kornelios Karbentus šeimoje. 1862 m. rasti pirmieji Vincento piešiniai. Tautybė: Olandas Tėvas: Teodoras van Gogas Motina: Ana Kornelia Karbentus

Kūrybos bruožai Ankstyvajai Vincento van Gogo kūrybai būdingi vargingų žmonių gyvenimo vaizdai (pvz., paveikslai „Valstietės portretas“ arba „Bulvių valgytojai“). Nutapė nemažai peizažų, natiurmortų. Šie Vincento van Gogo paveikslai realistiniai, tamsaus kolorito.

Pagrindinę meninės išraiškos priemonę – šviesias, nepaprastai ryškias spalvas – atrado Tik 1888 m., persikėlęs gyventi į nedidelį pietų Prancūzijos miestelį Arlį, kur prasidėjo brandžiausias Vincento van Gogo kūrybos periodas.

Spalvomis jis piešia ir modeliuoja formas, kuria ritmą, apibrėžia proporcijas ir erdvinius santykius.
