PLOT The sequence of events, or “what went down”. Climax Rise In Action Fall In Action Exposition Resolution

PLOT Exposition “To expose” - Sets the scene -Gives necessary background information

Rising action -Conflict/ struggle is introduced PLOT Rising action -Conflict/ struggle is introduced

Climax -the high point of the action PLOT Climax -the high point of the action

Falling action -The conflict lessens PLOT Falling action -The conflict lessens

Resolution to resolve - conflict concludes -loose ends tied up PLOT Resolution to resolve - conflict concludes -loose ends tied up

Characters The people or animals who participate in the action We learn about them through: -physical descriptions -words -actions

Setting Time and Place Time can be: decades, seasons, time of day Place can be: geographical, specific locations
