What is the Sky Academy Skills Studios? Skills Studios is an interactive, curriculum-based learning experience that uses the latest technology to build children’s life skills and take them behind the scenes at Sky. You could talk about: The amazing technology you used and the people you met The behind-the-scenes tour of Skills Studios The hands-on learning experience The process of creating your own news report The screening of your video on the day The life skills you used

Why did we visit Skills Studios? Explain what you were studying in class and which topic your visit focused on.

Things we learnt at Sky: We were surprised to see: It was amazing to find out: We never knew that: Talk about the different roles given to your groups, e.g. studio introduction, location report, eyewitness report and expert interviews.

Key skills we used and developed: Add pictures/photos to show the tasks you completed in the Skills Studios, e.g. using technology/equipment, discussing ideas, presenting etc.

We could use these skills to: Where else at school or home could you use the skills you have developed or new information acquired? Link your day’s activities and skills developed to jobs or careers you may wish to pursue in the future.

The finished product Show your fabulous Skills Studios news report here by embedding it onto the slide. To embed from the Skills Studios website: On the Slides tab in Normal view, click the slide to which you want to add a video. In your internet browser, log onto the Skills Studios website to watch the video: https://skills.sky.com/registration/register/ Right-click over the video and click Copy the embed code. Back in PowerPoint, on the Insert tab, in the Media group, click the arrow under Video. Click Video From Web Site. In the Video From Web Site dialogue box, paste the embed code, and then click Insert. To embed a saved video file: Save your video onto your desktop. Back in PowerPoint, in Normal view, click the slide in which you want to embed a video. On the Insert tab, in the Media group, click the arrow under Video, and then click Video from file. In the Insert Video dialogue box, locate and click the video that you want to embed, and then click Insert.
